Will you meet me in the food court? the food court in your heart.
I've noticed so many of us are feeling nostalgic for another era. I am too. For me I think I feel such a pull toward a time when I felt quieter and calm. Today all of our nervous systems are fried with how fast furious and often terrible things have become. So of course we are yearning for a time that just generally felt better. When things were much much easier to process.
Doesn't meeting up at the food court in the mall in like 2002 sound AMAZING?! (or 1992, 82, etc)
When I was a kid in Evansville, IN we had 2 malls: Washington Square and Eastland Mall. Eastland Mall was the newer one down the road, and it sort of put Washington Square out of business. But Washington Square always holds such a special place for me. It's still there. It's still open somehow, even though there's not much in it. Whenever I'm home, if I have time, I go take a nostalgic stroll through those old corridors and remember...
remember a time when the world felt so much smaller. My last memories of my grandfather are in there. Memories of high school lunch period getting breadsticks and nacho cheese. When I was 6 years old there was a big wheels race there and I can still hear the roar of those plastic wheels echoing.
Those feelings are still alive inside of me. They are inside of you too, even if a little buried in the noise. Let's find them again. Inspire each other to bring those energies back into the world.
Have a great week
-Kevin
